Session 4 Program

1st game: Dodgeball :)

How to play: Participants are divided into 2 teams. The first team forms a circle around the second team and try to use the ball to hit the players from the second team. Once the ball hits the players inside, they are out of the game. The other team is supposed to dodge the approaching balls. Increase difficulty by adding in more balls into the game.

2nd game: Cling!

How to play: Similar to how atoms works (electron, protons, neutrons : pardon me for the too technical stuff). Each players find a partner and form into a pair. For this game, there will be someone without the partner, he will be the catcher (free electron). His goal is to catch the other player without a partner (neutron). That player is supposed to escape and he can touch any pair he wants. The pair that is touched, the person on the left becomes the next neutron and the game carries on until the neutron is caught.

3rd game: Captain's ball

How to play: Like the actual game, 2 goal keepers stand on the chair to receive the ball. The 2 teams is supposed to pass the ball around to reach the 2 keepers to win. The team with the most goals in 15 mins (each interval) wins. Best played indoors with boundaries set. One may also include rules like "students can only pass to volunteers" etc.

Next session we'll be heading out of school. So do attend if u can. See ya

Session 3 Program

1st game: Minus those Newspapers!

How to play: Participants split themselves into 3 different teams. The objective of the game is to squeeze any many people onto the newspaper provided. The amount of newspaper decreases as the game goes on and one has to think of ways to ensure the same number of participants managed to squeeze onto those newspapers.

2nd game: Crossing the River

How to play: This is another variation of transporting group members from one end of the hall to the other using only limited newspapers. Everyone in the group has to remain in the newspaper area while crossing. Newspaper will be taken away if anyone falls out of the area, thereby leading to even lesser newspaper for moving. To increase the difficulty, one may include participants who are "blind, mute, lame" etc

3rd game: Helium Pole

How to play: CLassic game of balancing a pole, hoop, newspaper and teams have to bring down the item from a height using only their fingers.

4th game: American Eagle

How to play: Attackers will try to go pass the defenders to recover the item (ball etc) Defenders are supposed to prevent the attackers from getting the item. Defenders form into 4 lines of defence and not supposed to step out of the line. Once attackers are caught, they need to restart all over again at the initial stage.

Just to do a record of the games we played in Yuhua. I wasn't around for the first session so I could do with some help to tell me the games we played then.

Session 2 Program

1st game: Name Introduction

How to play: Form into a circle first. Each player has to introduce their name and pass the bottle/stick/ball to the next player, who must then introduce their own names and the name before them, so as the game goes on, the players have to remember more names.

To increase the difficulty, you can insert other rules like "reverse, skip another player, forfeit" etc.

2nd game: Wizard, Giant, Dwarf

How to play : The classic scissor/paper/stone. Wizard wins dwarf, dwarf wins giant, giant wins wizard. May include actions to generate more fun. Other variations also possible.

3rd game: Police & Thief

How to play : Similar to catching, but with more strategy in play. Choose 2 pairs of students/volunteers to be the police. The rest of the players becomes the thieves. The police is supposed to catch as many thieves as possible and thieves caught automatically become part of the police. The police needs to join hands together to catch the thieves, so once the chain is broken, they have to start over again. Boundaries can be set to limit the play area.

To increase difficulty, only the ends of the police chain can catch the thieves. Or set time limit for the game. Or include a base station for the thieves (where they are safe from the police)

that's all for now.

p.s anyone can bring a digicam for next session? I think it is a good idea to keep some photos on the activities we have done. Too much text deters viewership.
